Kate set up her production company Strange Dog in 1996 with the writer-director Carine Adler in order to produce Carine's first feature film, "Under the Skin".

"Under the Skin" (1997) won the Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature, Edinburgh Film Festival, 1997 and the International Critics award, Toronto Film Festival, 1997. It has been distributed in over 25 countries around the world and launched the film career of its lead actress Samantha Morton (Woody Allen's "Sweet and Lowdown", Steven Spielberg's "Minority Report" and Lynne Ramsey's "Morvern Caller").

Kate Ogborn executive produced "This is Not a Love Song" in 2002. "This is Not a Love Song" is written by Simon Beaufoy (The Full Monty), directed by Bille Eltringham (The Darkest Light) and produced by Mark Blaney of Footprint Films and financed by the Film Council. It was premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival, 2002, and has been acquired for international sales by Celluloid Dreams. Territories sold include US (Wellspring).

Kate has recently produced Chris Cooke's debut feature, "One For The Road". Financed by the Film Council's New Cinema Fund, Film Four Lab and East Midlands Media Investments. "One For The Road" features an ensemble cast including Hywel Bennett, Rupert Procter and Julie Legrand alongside up and coming actors Greg Chisholm and Micaiah Dring. "One For The Road" is released in the UK by Tartan Films in July 2004.

Prior to producing "Under the Skin", Kate was the executive producer of the BFI and Film Four's New Directors scheme and executive produced over 60 shorts, including Tinge Krishnan's BAFTA award winning "Shadow Scan". New Directors was recognised as one of the premier talent spotting schemes in the UK and Kate commissioned shorts by a wide range of new and emerging directors including Lynne Ramsey, Simon Beaufoy, Bille Eltringham, Sara Sugarman, Andrew Kotting, Carine Adler, Richard Kwietniowski, Sandra Goldbacher, and Chris Cooke, many of whom have gone on to direct features. In 2002, Kate has recently executive produced the Orange FilmFour short film prize.

In 2003 Kate joined The Bureau and is continuing to develop films with Tony Grisoni, JamesMarsh and Chris Cooke. From December 2003 to December 2005 Kate was the executive Producer of the film production fund for EM Media and executive Produced Michael Winterbottom's "Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story" released by Lionsgate in the UK in 2005; Louis Pepe and Keith Fulton's "Brothers of the Head", written by Tony Grisoni to be released By Tartan Films in 2006 and Shane Meadows "This Is England" currently In postproduction. Since January 2006 alongside her producer’s role at The Bureau Kate is Employed as Development Producer at Revolution Films developing a slate of television drama.
